Any IP address can be used for any purpose on any network, but if you have applied for a domain name using your domain name, you will use an IP address. If you already have a domain name and IP address, you may convert this to a reverse-domain name to prevent name resolution issues during the times when you are not connecting directly to the Internet. You can also do this during the times when you are connecting through a proxy server.
